Cortona Farmhouse La Pietra is a, charming Tuscany farmhouse is very secluded and private in the wooded hills above Cortona and Lake Trasimeno.

The house is a traditional 16th century stone Tuscany farmhouse.

It has been beautifully restored and slightly modernized to enhance it’s beauty and practicality. It is situated among acres of mature gardens, lovingly tended.

The farmhouse was once owned by the prominent Australian feminist scholar Germaine Greer and her touch is evident in the lovely English gardens and in the books she left behind.

The grounds are spectacular and extensive and include a private vegetable garden, a fabulous swimming pool, large expanses of lawn and mature trees, and numerous terraces and gardens for eating or just sitting and relaxing.

This Tuscany farmhouse has three master bedroom suites.

Two of the three bedrooms have ante-rooms which can be used as bedrooms as well.

Using these, the house is ideal for two families, or will offer more luxury and privacy to one, or to two couples.

The farmhouse has four fireplaces, and three bathrooms and is as comfortable in the winter as it is in summer.

There is a caretaker nearby and a cook and housekeeper available as often as you like.
