Met by Rosie as arranged. Rosie was very helpful and informative. The apartment was just as described. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom very quiet at night. It is up a couple of flights of stairs so some may struggle with heavy cases. I would suggest the beds in the living space only suitable for children. We met the next door neighbour a few times on the landing and although she didn't speak English she was very friendly. This apartment is in a very good location. We walked to all the major sights and there were plenty of well priced restaurants, a small grocery store, bakery and an ATM very close by. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

We returned to Rome for a second time (last trip was in 2009), fearing that the second time, like sequels, could never match the first time you fall in love with a place. Our fears were unwarranted. We booked a week’s stay at Carla Conti’s Apartment Travestere. What an apartment! Very large, and more than what we needed for two people, but glad that we had the space. We arranged for airport pickup through Italy-worldwide-accomodations, the agency where Carla lists her apartment. Gino, our driver, was waiting for us at the baggage pick up. He was gracious and interested in sharing his knowledge, which made for a wonderful and informative ride to our apartment – located on a tiny cobbled street, just over the Tiber River in a neighborhood that locals believe is the true Roma – we are believers now! Carla met us at her apartment, a delicious cake in hand, ready to get us acclimated. The apartment is beautiful and modern, within an ancient building. The entrance faces an inside courtyard – nothing fancy – you are, after all, part of this very real life community. When you walk in you are in the spacious kitchen/dining area. The appliances are state of the art (full refrigerator; wall oven, cook top, microwave, drip coffee maker; moka espresso maker). The table is large (with fresh fruit in a bowl). The sink/stove/counter space is nicely laid out, with plenty of cooking/eating apparel. There is a dishwasher and washing machine as well. A lovely dried flower arrangement adorns the transition from the kitchen area to the living room, where two comfortable sofas, TV, and internet access await you. From this room, there are two hallways both ending at the bedroom. The hallway on the left is a dressing room and the hallway on the right leads to the incredible bathroom which has a huge walk in shower with a fantastic shower head. The bathroom itself offers plenty of room. The bedroom is a step down, with a large comfortable bed, armoire and plenty of lighting. Carla is a kind, sweet woman (with an equally nice husband and daughter) who lives nearby and anxious to make sure our stay was perfect. She responded instantly to a couple of inquiries during our week – we could not have been more pleased with our interaction with her. We were not far from more familiar parts of Rome. For example, we crossed the Tiber and in 10 minutes were in the Campo di Fiore area and the Pantheon (where we attended midnight mass on Christmas Eve, which included Gregorian chants – truly transforming). The Trastevere area is not your tourist’s Rome. It is full of nooks and crannies to poke around and discover – a working neighborhood, grounded in day to day living. Everyone we met was kind and helpful to us, even though we spoke very little Italian. We shopped every day for food to prepare at the apartment. We met Roberto and his wife who own Antica Caciara, where local shepherds deliver fresh ricotta in the early morning (ethereal!), and where you can purchase Pecorino di fossa, that has been wrapped in cloth, aged in a cave on a bed of burnt straw covered with sand and pebbles and left to mature for 100 days – kid you not!. Then there is Emo, his wife, and their wonderful son who own Da Carlone – a two minute walk from Carla’s apartment - where Emo takes pride in telling you that his Carbonara is the specialty of the house – and eating it leaves an indelible mark on your tastebuds and a smile in your heart knowing that you have just eaten something exquisite. This is where customers make a point of shaking Emo’s hand as they leave and knock on the windowed kitchen door to bid their good byes. This is what the neighborhood means, causing you to scratch your head in wonderment at how such a large, complicated, ancient city can be so intimate, so passionate, so grounded. On our last day, Carla came by to say goodbye and although saddened to leave her beautiful apartment, we know we will be back to continue what is the start of something we cannot live without. Grazie Mille! Carla Ciao Ciao..a presto...

Myself and my newlywedded husband's Roman Holiday at Trastevere Apartment was simply enchanting! The description of the apartment, as well as the pictures were meticulously accurate! We were met at the apartment upon arrival by the most delightful owner I could have ever hoped for, Carissima Carla! Carla's welcoming smile, as well as her hospitality embodied the essence of Rome and set the tone for the magical journey we were about to embark on. She had baked a cake for us, written us a welcoming note and left a bottle of bubbly to enjoy! You could eat off the floors, and all incidentals you may need were provided, coffee, sugar, cell phone, even bandaids! She had laid out on the table, maps and even bus #'s to get to all the spots we wanted to visit. The apartment was equipped with Wi-Fi and TV. But believe me, you won't be watching TV. The spacious apartment was decorated beautifully and it smelled delightful from aroma reeds. Their is a small balcony off the kitchen where I loved to sit and read. The apartment is situated right in the heart of Trastevere, just a few minutes walk from a the majestic Tiber River and all other attractions you want to see. To say our stay there was wonderful is not enough. It was a dream. I had never been to Europe before and the experience was life transforming! Carla and I have actually become friends and she is teaching me Italian through our emails! I have already recommended this particular apartment to three people and will definitely be renting it again! Helpful tips: I would recommend that travelers exchange their money to Euro in their homeland as the fees to do this in Rome were quite steep. The best exchange fee we found while we were there was within the Vatican walls as you approach St. Peter's Basillica on the left hand side. You must have Euro to pay your driver if you have elected for a driver to meet you at the airport. Grazie Carla for the love you have put into this apartment and for being YOU! Un Cara Saluto~Diane

Fantastic apartment! Our family of four (with 2 teenagers) was very comfortable in this lovely, spacious apartment (with a big bathroom). The location makes it easy to walk to many significant locations, restaurants, supermarkets, etc. Carla is very welcoming (we loved the cake she baked!) and helpful. We loved our stay in Rome and highly recommend this apartment!

We settled into our lovely, contemporary apartment in "old Rome" for a week after a warm welcome from Carla who brought us a delicious welcome cake. The apartment is well-appointed (except for missing espresso cups) and has all the mod-cons one would expect. Access to an English news channel would be good. The location is perfect, close to transport and is surrounded by many interesting small shops and restaurants. Many sights are within walking distance. Highly recommended. Caio.

Researching and planning our European holiday from Perth, Western Australia exposed many of the pitfalls of some Internet travel websites. Some of our experiences undoubtedly demonstrated substandard accommodation providers flood sites with 'positive' feedback'. Our experiences in London and Dubai were very disappointing. This behaviour is fraudulent and needs to be addressed by the travel industry. Apartment Trastevere in Rome was an exception to the rule. True to Worldwide Accom's excellent reviews, the apartment was well appointed, comfortable, homely, scrupulously clean and secure, and a wonderful base for our family, including two pre-teenage children, to explore the history and delights of Rome. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you Carla (& Rosie)

We were extremely happy with the apartment in Trastevere. The apartment was very modern and comfortable, with some traditional features and was welcoming and very quiet. The apartment was convenient for all major attractions and there are a variety of restaurants within a few minutes walk to choose from. Carla welcomed us with a bowl of fruit and there was complimentary tea, coffee and condiments for us to use. As overseas travellers they were very much appreciated. We highly recommend this apartment in Trastevere and would definitely stay there again.

An excellent, spotlessly clean apartment with appliances that worked really well. Carla is truly wonderful. She went out of her way to help us in any way we asked. The apartment is located in a great place with fewer tourists about and a couple of wonderful restaurants nearby. I would stay in this apartment again and wholeheartedly recommend it to you.

The apartment was spotlessly clean and extremely well appointed with everything to be make our stay fantastic, including washing machine and fully equipped kitchen. The location could not be better, being walking distance to many of Rome's attractions such as the Forum and the Vatican. There is a wide choice of good restaurants within easy walking distance and the local gelato shop is exceptional. There is even a tourist information office a few minutes walk away, as well as bus and tram stops. Carla and Rosie were both very very helpful and friendly and there was even a home baked cake to welcome us! Double glazing meant that street noise was virtually non existent, an important point in Rome where late night partygoers are plentiful. The heating was great, probably the best we encountered in Italy.

We spent a week in Rome staying in Apartment Trastevere. We took up the option of the private airport transfer which went really smoothly. When we arrived, we were greeting at the apartment by the warm and smiling owner, Carla. Carla was absolutely lovely and very helpful at explaining all the features of the apartment. Carla was kind enough to bake us a delicious cake which we enjoyed very much. The apartment is in a great location - in an area of Rome where lots of locals live. It was a delight to be able to stay in an area which was not filled with tourists and which had a real Roman feel about it. Being able to step out into the cobblestoned street and wander to excellent, authentic restaurants was great. The last time I visited Rome I remember that in the tourist precincts it was sometimes hard to find great food. But Trastevere solved that problem! We ate wonderful food each night. We are a young couple and were on our honeymoon. I would highly recommend the apartment and the area to other young couples. It is a good location to head out for drinks and dinner. The apartment itself was quite large (larger than we were expecting after coming from an apartment in Paris) and well equipped. We enjoyed going to the local markets and cooking up some fresh pasta meals. We would definitely recommend this apartment and would like to thank Carla for her friendly hospitality!

This apartment is very nice. We cooked a lot and the kitchen has everything you would need. The apartment is on a small street on the same road as a small restaurant (get the pasta!). This place also has a really cool shower. It has a glass wall that isn't fully closed off.

We loved this apartment and would happily stay there again. Carla, the owner greeted us on arrival with a delicious cake and fresh fruit. She was so helpful and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The apartment is in a great location and we were able to walk to most of the popular tourist sites. There are lots of great restaurants and interesting shops in the area and we had some fantastic meals in Trastevere which is a lot less touristy than some of the more popular areas. The apartment has been beautifully renovated and it is very clean and comfortable. Don't be concerned about the appearance of the building( it looks quite rundown)because inside is fantastic!I would highly recommend this apartment. Thank you for making our stay in Rome so enjoyable. We were away for 5 weeks and dealt with many accommodation agencies and hotels during this time. Your company was by far the most professional and efficient. Your website is really easy to navigate and I would happily recommend Italy accom to family and friends. Deidre Favelle Australia

Beautiful apartment in wonderful Trastevere. If you have been to Rome before and are looking for something 'real', this is it. I'd have no hesitation staying again. The area is delightful, so Roman, so relatively tourist-free, so inexpensive. You need to like walking. But what is Rome about? EM

We spent one night here after our flight home was postponed by Icelandic ash. (Carla helped us enormously after we had just enjoyed 5 nights at the Balestrari apartment - see separate endorsement.)This spacious flat has a large very modern kitchen and bathroom. The enclosed bathroom separates the bedroom from the rest of the apartment, but in most respects this is a very open concept living space. The courtyard in the back is quiet and sunny in the morning. A balcony leads off the kitchen. Carla was a Godsend and great practical resource.

The location of Apartment Trastevere is excellent being close to the city centre, handy to transport, shops and restaurants and as it is in a quiet backstreet there is very little noise. The apartment itself is in excellent condition, the bathroom has a very good walk in shower with room to move (unlike many we've experienced in Italy). Carla, the owner, was very welcoming and helpful even booking a taxi for our departure and making sure the driver had the correct details for our destination. It would not be unreasonable to say that this apartment added to the enjoyment of our stay and we would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Rome.

Don't be put off by the exterior of the street, most of Rome has Graffiti. The apartment was even better than the photographs it was very clean and quiet just what we wanted after long days sightseeing. The owner Carla, met us on arrival and was extremely helpful she explained all the amenities and where to visit or eat etc. All the major sights are well within walking distance of the apartment, and the nightlife was wonderful. Wish I could go back tomorrow.
