Rome Apartment Dickens is one of seven meticulous apartments located in one building, Palazzo Fortuny; a rare and unique gem, centrally located, yet privately and safely tucked away behind secure gates.

This elegant Roman Palazzo is perched on a small hill in a setting of lush greenery with spectacular views of Rome from every window.

It is conveniently bordering Villa Borghese, surrounded by trees offering a tranquil environment, almost like being in the country with no traffic noise, yet ten minutes away from Piazza Del Popolo and the Spanish Steps, where you can indulge in the occasional shopping spree or choose to dine in of the many great restaurants in this area.

This is a charming apartment – open living overlooking lush greenery from the living room.

The living room is a stylish mix of traditional and modern, tastefully chosen to compliment the era.

The Apartment Dickens is a very nice apartment situated about a mile from the Spanish steps. It is situated up a very quiet road and gives a real feeling of peace away from the excitement of the city. we stayed there with out teenage children and the accommodation worked very well with a nice bedroom and then two sofa beds in the lounge so everybody had a proper bed. The bathroom and kitchen are functional and worked very well for our stay. The check in was also very efficient. There is a market just down the road where we were able to buy fresh bread and fruit so breakfast was very easy. The rest of the time we ate out but the kitchen is well enough equipped to cook a dinner if you wanted to. The location is excellent. It is about 400 yards to the nearest metro although we didn't use this as we walked everywhere. The Vatican is about 30 minutes, Spanish Steps 15 minutes and The Colloseum about 30 minutes so very easy to get everywhere. There are a lot of restaurants nearby and again it is an easy walk places like Piazza Navonne and other places for a wide selection of places to eat. Rome is a great place and this is an excellent location for a stay in the city. We much preferred it to staying in a hotel and would stay here again when we visit Rome. It isn't 5 start luxury but it is a very functional apartment.

Palazzo Fortuny is well located near the Piazza del Popolo and is a secure block of apartments in a converted old villa with lovely grounds. The apartment itself was quite spacious and very well priced for Rome. However, the furniture, furnishings, and amenities are pretty basic. There are single beds only, which we hadn't noticed in the photos on the website. There is free wifi, which was a bonus and great storage. Getting to the Palazzo involves a walk up a steep hill and there are steps leading to the apartment. Booking was simple and the process was smooth.

We enjoyed our stay in the appartment, it's very central and within walking distance to metro, grocery shop and open air fruit and veg market around the corner. The beautiful Piazza de Popollo is only 5 minutes walk, a great place to relax in the evenings and enjoy the buskers (Michael Jackson impersonator...wow!) or just people watch. I would definitely stay in Apartment Dickens again if we go back to Rome and would recommend it to anybody visiting Rome.

We loved our apartment. It was charming, roomy enough for 4 people, and perfectly located to allow access to all of historic Rome and public transportation. This was so much more comfortable than a hotel room. We also used Worldwide's transport service which proved wonderfully convenient. The only downside, which I hesitate to mention because I'd definitely stay here again, was the lack of some basic supplies like paper products and dish soap.

The location of the apartment was excellent and within easy walk of the metro and shopping. It was comfortably large enough for two people with a great view out of the large picture window in the living/dining area. All arrangements, before, during and after our stay were excellent and made our trip very comfortable and stress free.

The apartment is very private and quiet for being so near the Piazza del Popolo. It is a climb up a hill to the steps leading up to the first-floor apartment (European 1st floor = 2nd for USA). The best part is that the pick-up at Termini and the later transfer to the airport were totally reliable.

This accommodation was perfect for a family of four. It was within easy walking distance of many of the attractions Rome has to offer (Piazza Del Popolo, Via Condotti, Piazza di Spagna, Trevi Fountain, the Villa Borghese Gardens and the Vatican City). The apartment was clean and comfortable. There is a supermarket within a couple of city blocks, and a market literally around the corner from the apartment, to buy supplies for breakfast. Don't be put off by the laneway that leads to the apartment, once you are in the secure, verdant courtyard you feel like you are living like a true Roman! We would recommend Apartment Dickens to anyone who wants an authentic Italian experience. MS Australia

My friend and I came as participants in the Rome International Film Festival. I had travel problems and my arrival was delayed by a day. My friend arrived from a different city and was accommodated kindly before my arrival. We loved the apartment. It was exactly what we saw in the photos on the web-site and met our expectations. It was the perfect location for us for both the film fest, which was north of the city center at Auditorium, and to see Rome and the Vatican after the fest. We had an easy walk to the Flaminio metro, 2 stops from the Vatican and 4 stops from Ancient Rome. It was in a beautiful hill area just outside the Villa Borghese and the ancient walls of the city center. There is an internet cafe just down the street and lots of great little spots to eat and market near us. I highly recommend this form of travel to anyone who hasn't done it before. You get much more of the feel of what it is like to live in another city, not just being a visitor.

The apartment was perfectly situated for touring all of Rome. It was an easy walk to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and of course, the shopping along the Via del Corso. With no more than 100 meters walk to the Piazza Flaminio, we were able to catch the Rome Metro. Two stops to the west on the A line you at the Vatican, and with a transfer going east at Rome Termini, you are at the Colosseo! Spectacular. We strolled through Navonna and the Jewish Ghetto, trolled the markets and enoteca of Rome and had a brilliant time. Just 50 meters from the apartment, between 8am and noon, there is an excellent market with fresh fish and seafood, a deli, two produce vendors and other foods. If you walk from the apartment towards the Piazza Flaminio, and take the second right headed towards the Tiber, there is an excellent grocery/deli with fresh pasta, bread, condiments, etc. As I am an addicted foodie, we cooked at the apartment four nights out of five, and then dined on the fifth at a Michelin rated restaurant just off the Piazza del Popolo - Il Valentino's HI-RES (rooftop restuarant) at the Hotel Valadier on Via Fontanella. In short, the apartment was outstanding value for money, located perfectly in Rome, and the only way to travel. I will be abandoning hotels for the future and focusing my longer terms stays on apartment rentals. Mike Caldwell

I stayed here with my 3 children and we were joined during the day by my fourth child and his friend who had been in Europe since Jan. The apt. was great! - very comfortable and lovely - quiet and safe. The location was fabulous. We shopped every day in the markets nearby and enjoyed cooking every day and sitting in the sunny dining area, enjoying Rome and being together. We were there for 4 days and walked everywhere although public transportation was very accessible and nearby. Having such a nice space to spend time in when not touring was great - so much better than a hotel room. The staff was very helpful and professional. We loved our stay, would recommend Italy Accom and are happy to see when we plan our next trip to Venice and Florence that you will be able to help us with accom. again! Highly recommend! The Dickens Fortuny is perfect sized and well equipped for a couple or a pair of close friends. The apartment complex is up a little hill and in the midst of fragrant greenery. What a tranquil oasis from the fantastic rush of the Roman streets. Yet, the place is close to everything - the subway, a fresh produce market, the main attractions, and good eats. Check out the spinach and cheese or tuna and olive sandwiches at the eat-in/take-out place across the street. The food is inexpensive and you'll find more Italians than tourists there.
