This apartment was a perfect home base for experiencing and exploring Rome, and was exactly as pictured and described (except the cleaning fee was 45 euros instead of 25). We were thrilled with the proximity to everything we wanted (especially Campo de' Fiori -- which must be visited in the morning for the market and pizza bianca or rossa, at lunch time for the panini, and in the evening for the passegiata -- and Osteria da Fortunato at Via del Pellegrino 12, for a home cooked meal with pasta made right in front of you). The nearby bus and taxi stops at Chiesa Nuova were great for coming and going, but we walked almost everywhere. Rosie was very gracious, and provided helpful suggestions and maps. Because we stayed for ten nights we did not want to carry cash for the entire stay, so we paid by credit card in advance of our arrival. That worked well for us. The apartment had everything we needed, even a hair dryer. The bed was big and comfortable. There is a low beam over the loft, but my wife is only 5' 3", so she took the far side of the bed, and didn't have to duck at all. There is a low doorway into the kitchen, as well as a step, so if you are tall, you have to step up and duck at the same time -- but that was not much of an issue, and the old arch there adds so much character that you wouldn't want it changed. We would be very happy to stay at the Apartment Monserrato again, and recommend it highly.

Holiday to Rome was very good. Apartment Monserrato is just minutes from the local food shop, and 5-10 minutes gets you to a variety of Restaurants. The bus stop is about 2 mins away and has connections to the Main Termini Station, the colloseum and the Vatican City. However all the main attractions are within easy walking distance without using the buses if this is preferable. We found that during the heat of the day it was easier using the buses to get around but then in the evening to walk everywhere. Inside the apartment was very clean, though the apartment is small it is plently big enough for a couple. The bathroom is nice too with a good shower. Air conditioning worked well. Would recommend this apartment to any visitors.

This apartment is in a great location. We easily walked (even with jet lag) to Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, and the Pantheon. We also walked to the Capitolini Museum and the Colosseum. The apartment itself is a good use of space and feels bigger than it actually is. If you have any mobility problems, though, you might have some difficulty with the loft steps. It looks just like the web site depicts, only it's lighter and airier. Rosie met us and was very pleasant and pointed out grocery stores in the area. There are a lot of restaurants a very short distance away, so you'll have a lot to choose from. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfectly located, central yet peaceful. Ideal for a short visit to Rome. We would highly recommend it to any small family group. Comfortable and compact. We were there in late April, the weather was lovely but we did wonder if the apartment might be very hot in the height of the summer.

This apartment was excellent. It was central and although compact it was very comfortable and had everything you would require for a holiday. The owner met us on arrival and was very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very pleasant and clean apartment and would definately stay in it again and recommend it to friends. Linda and Stephen Edinburgh UK

the Monserrato apartment was in a wonderful spot to thoroughly enjoy walking in Rome - we were able to walk to all major places and if tired at the end of the morning there were bus stops for both the main buses and the little inner city ones near to the apartment. the proximity to the Campo dei Fiore made picking up delicious food easy and a great pleasure. The apartment was exactly as advertised on the net. We were a little surprised that it did not have a washing machine (but that was an assumption we made). As it was hot we were glad of the very efficient ac. AnnC Australia

We loved the accomodation. The owner was there on arrival and walked us thru the accomodation (he spoke good English) and was a very friendly man. The beds were very comfortable, kitchen and bath right sized. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION, it was a GREAT location. Close to just about everything. We walked everywhere

We loved this apartment - the location is great - what a joy to walk out the door each morning! It was a perfect size for my husband and I. We're in our early 40s so the two flights of stairs were no problem. Loved the little bottle shop next door! Always a cold Peroni when you need it. On our arrival we were told there was a problem with the shower - the previous guest had smashed the shower screen. I got a call from Rosa the owner full of apologies and by the time we got back from our walk she had set up a temporary show curtain and left us a bottle of sparking wine and a lovely note. We really appreciated her prompt attention and that slight setback in no way affected our enjoyment of the apartment. There was an air con unit which we used as it was very hot and there was plenty of space to stretch out. Our only suggestion would be a different couch - maybe a single seater and a two seater? there is room for another couch so that would make it even more comfortable. Regarding the airport transfers, we can't fault them. The cars were clean and new, and the drivers courteous and prompt - our return trip was at 4.45am - way too early for us but the driver was right on time, even at that hour. Rome is a magical place and Campo di Fiori is a fantastic place to base yourself, and this apartment is great for two people. We would definately stay there again.
