Florence Apartment Sant Ambrogio is situated in the heart of historical Florence in a limited traffic zone, and a minutes walk from Santa Croce where you’ll find the tombs of Michelangelo, Galileo, Rossini, Machiavelli as well as a tribute to Dante.
The apartment is on the third floor of a 800 building (no lift) and offers a silence that you would not think possible for such a central location.
From the rooftop terrace with exceptional views of the Cathedral, GiottoÆs Bell tower and a 360¦ view of the city and distant countryside.
The only noise to be heard are the chimes of church bells.
Two double bedrooms and a bathroom can be found on the ground floor, on this level you will also find the living / dining room and a small kitchen.
Stairs lead up to the gallery space which has an original fresco, sofa bed and the second bathroom.
A further staircase leads to a spectacular terrace with views over Florence.
The apartment has been recently restructured with great care and taste offering a real Tuscan home away from home.
Original frecoes, banners, ornaments and period furniture are combined with the modern comforts of satellite television and dvd and air conditioning.
Perfectly situated in a central location, this apartment is accessable to most areas of Florence by foot, including many wonderful restaurants, bars and cafes and open markets.

The apartment was a little dated, but it was very charming and nice and clean. Don't let the lack of an elevator deter you from this apartment, because the payoff is a fantastic rooftop terrace from where you have a a perfect view of the Duomo. We were there for three nights and spent two of them up there with our kids reliving the great day while having prociutto, cheese, foccacia and wine. The air conditioners worked but leaked all the time so we had to put buckets/waste can under them to collect the water. We called the landlord and they immediately came out to fix the problem to no avail. Owners were very nice, they even had a bottle of wine for us as a welcome gift. I would recommend this apartment but the a/c issue should be corrected.

The apartment is simply delightful; ideally located in the Old City yet quiet at night, fabulous views from the terrace, a few minutes walk from everything, BEAUTIFULLY presented and decorated, the most helpful and professional owners. Highly recommended; don't be put off by no lift, as everthing else is perfect. All kids will LOVE the 'tower room' as a special bonus. Terrific. As per my comments, this apartment was by itself a real highlight of our trip.

Very comfortable and convenient. Far enough away from the centre for quiet but close enough to everything. The land lady could not do enough to make us comfortable and welcome. Recommend to anyone as a wonderful place to stay.

Very nice clean and spacious apartment. Fairly central. Wonderfull roof terrace with distant views of the Duomo. Owners provided a first breakfast and some wine. Highly recommended!

beautiful, recently renovated residence around the corner from the florence synagogue and a ten-minute walk to the duomo. the owner is very welcoming and obviously has put great effort into making her apartment comfortable. if you don't mind walking up the stairs to the fourth floor (no elevator), you will be rewarded with immaculate, personalized accommodations AND a spectacular view from the rooftop terrace. the apartment owner, christina, answered her cellphone and met us at her apartment on time, both at arrival and departure. she explained how to operate the dishwasher and washing machine and made sure that we had everything we needed for our comfort and convenience, including a basket of breads, croissants and jams, and a thoughtfully stocked refrigerator: yogurt, fruit juice, butter, wine, bottled water and more.
